Last night I had the honourable pleasure of presenting the inaugural Darren Searl Trophy to the winning Club team for 2026 in Horizon's Golf Club.

Darren had been involved with Karuah Golf Club as Captain for 10 years and before he left us, was part of the NDGA Committee. His Legacy was always about team/clubs and would stop and talk to any player. Those that knew him will always remember him.

Horizon's won the Trophy on 12.5 wins, with B & C Grade contributing most of those wins and hence are in the Final's tomorrow at Shortland Waters, there A Grade team were able to win a few games to seal the win for there club. 3 Points behind them were a host of other clubs on 9.5 wins, Toronto, Newcastle, Hawks Nest and Shortland Waters.

There will be a Memorial at Karuah GC on Thursday April 16th in Darren's memory, as he wished his ashes to be spread on the 1st hole.

It is open to all that knew him to attend.
