A Grade Final's

A Grade Finals were playeed at Nelson Bay GC today.
Div 1
Harry Leggatt and Chris Turnbull got Newcastle off to a flyer with wins over Warwick Jones and Andrew Cairney, Hawks Nest then turned the tables with wins to Craig Tuckwell over Andrew Haigh and Tommy De Wit over Ben Hawes, Newcastle's Mark Ellison & Ben Hillard easily accounted for Robbie Richards and Mackinley Sullivan leaving them with 4 wins and the No1 & 2 games going to the 17th, where Jacob Wesson def Matt Kirkwood to secure the Pennant for Newcastle
Div 2
Youngster Eli Peattie continued his hot form with a win over Tyler Franzsen, but wins to Shortland's Dale Andrean over Caleb Bromley and Callum Bartley over Chris Jardine kept Shortland ahead, Steven Slappendel dispenced of David Cook to have them on 3 wins, Waratah fought back hard with wins to David Dryden over Luke Iredale, Nathan Ekert over Lachie Buesnell and Richard Ford over Michael Mulholland. This left Mitch Steel and Tristian Branch out on the course after they finished all square. Mitch Steel was able to beat Tristian on the 19th hole. This left Shortland and Waratah at 4 all.
Steven Slappendel and Tristian Branch were then selected to play off for the Pennant. After a super up and down from Tristian on the 1st playoff hole, he got into a bit of trouble on the 2nd, and Steve was able to par the hole to win the Pennant for Shortland Waters and he remained undeafeated for the year.
Shortland Waters earned promotion to Div 1 next year.
Div 3
Another close game was brewing, Belmont's captain Adam Gibson won over Steve Startin 2 & 1 and Muree's Steven Shearrer over Joe Darcy 2 & 1, then after Muree's Luke Trantor and Steven Hassett won 1 up this left Muree with 3 wins. Mark Littlewood pipped Jaxon Brooks on the last, this left Blake Styles and Belmont's Bastain Joseph left to play as they finished square. Bastain was able to win on the 19th.
Jaxon Brooks and Mark Littlewood were selected by there respective teams to play off for the Pennant, and Jaxon was able to turn the tide and beat Mark on the 1st playoff hole.
Muree earned promotion to Div 2 next year.
