The 2022 A Grade Pennant series kicked off on Sunday February 6 - with Waratah hosting Division 1 and Nelson Bay hosting Division 2.

The weather at both venues was a bit below average with intermittent showers for the first half of the day

Division 1 saw good wins to Newcastle and hosts Waratah - with Belmont confirming their elevation to Division 1 with a close win aver heavyweights Toronto.

Division 2 saw a clear win to Pacific Dunes - a close win to Muree - and a draw between Hawks Nest and hosts Nelson Bay - with Hawks Nest winning the Playoff to get the point.

Next week Round 2 will be held at Toronto and Pacific Dunes
